June is Pride Month, but celebrating LGBTQIA+ love isn't something that belongs exclusively to calendar dates.
As a wedding photographer, one of my greatest joys in this career is documenting individuals exactly as you are. Seeing the way you laugh together, the way you hold each other close, and the countless small moments that make every relationship unique makes this job so incredible.
Every couple deserves to see their story reflected in wedding photography. Every love story deserves to be celebrated.
Queer love should be seen. For too long, the LGBT+ community was told their relationships were something to hide, deny, or be ashamed of. The ability to stand in front of family, friends, and community and celebrate that love openly is not something that should be taken for granted.
Representation matters.
Your photos should never require you to fit into a box or perform a version as a of yourself that doesn't feel authentic. Finding a wedding photographer whose work you love is one thing. Finding someone who will create an environment where you feel comfortable, respected, and free to be yourself is another.
My approach to photography has always been centered on connection over perfection. Being authentically you. I want every couple to feel seen, supported, and celebrated exactly as they are. Whether that means an intimate elopement in the desert, a colorful wedding weekend surrounded by chosen family, or a quiet engagement session at sunset, the goal remains the same: to create images that feel honest to your relationship.
Last summer, I photographed Sam and Steven's wedding. The couple reached out to me two weeks before their date. Their wedding planning was done quickly and in response to a climate where they feared their rights might be taken away from them. Their friends and chosen family came together from across the country to celebrate them and their love, and I am so grateful I had the chance to be part of it.
Pride Month reminds us that visibility and representation will always matter. I love every couple who trusts me to document such an important chapter of their lives, and I'm proud to create photography that welcomes and celebrates LGBTQ+ stories.
To every couple planning a wedding, engagement, or elopement: your story deserves to be documented in a way that feels authentically you.
